Description

Spend the evening learning about the UN Sustainable Development Goals at a symposium hosted by Mount Arrowsmith Biosphere Region Research Institute (MABRRI) in collaboration with Vancouver Island University's Office of the President.

The evening will begin with a presentation by experts on the topic of sustainability. This first presentation, Unpacking the SDGs, will explain the basics of what the Sustainability Development Goals are. Our keynote speaker, Mark Holland, will then pull from his expertise in sustainable development to lecture on Creating a Sustainable Campus. Following a catered dinner, VIU students will explain what VIU is currently doing to meet these Goals. The evening will finish with a World Café event, where attendees will have the opportunity to provide input on how VIU can continue to strive to meet the Sustainable Development Goals in the future.

Seats are limited and are first come first serve. In order to prepare for catering, ticket sales will end on Friday October 12, 2018 at 12:00pm.
